This Privacy Policy explains how the RadioRipple app ("RadioRipple", "we", "us") handles information. We built RadioRipple to be private by default: you can browse and listen to stations without creating an account, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising inside the app.
1. Information You Provide
RadioRipple works without an account. If you choose to Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google to sync your favorites across devices, we receive your name and email address from that provider through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). We use this only to identify your account and store your favorites.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Your favorites, recently played stations, sleep timer, alarm settings, and appearance preferences are stored locally on your device. If you are not signed in, this information never leaves your device.
3. Information Stored in the Cloud
If you are signed in, your list of favorite stations is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), linked to your account identifier, so it can sync across your devices. We do not store your listening history in the cloud.
4. Station Directory
RadioRipple's station discovery is powered by the community-run Radio Browser directory. When you search or play a directory station, the app sends anonymous requests (and an anonymous "play" count that feeds the directory's popularity rankings). These requests do not include your name, email, or account identifier.
5. Third-Party Services
- Apple Sign in with Apple — authentication.
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) — authentication and favorites sync.
- Radio Browser — the station directory.
Each service processes data under its own privacy policy.
6. This Website
This marketing website may display third-party advertising. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. This is separate from the RadioRipple app, which contains no advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Local data is removed when you delete the app. To delete your synced account data, sign out and contact us at the address below and we will delete the favorites associated with your account.
8. Children
RadioRipple is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data associated with your account. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@radioripple.com.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
